Planning a Group Night at a Live House

Plan a group live-house visit around music, booth size, happy hour and a clear booking enquiry at Babylon.

Plan a group live-house night around a confirmed guest count, the band set you want to catch, a suitable booth and an understood spending arrangement. At Babylon Club in Bukit Jalil, bands, DJs and dancers share the main stage from Monday to Saturday, with the first band at 9:15pm. There are 25 booths, no cover charge and no deposit to book. Private KTV is not part of the venue. Start by explaining that format to your group, then use the booth plan and programme to build an evening people can follow without constant coordination.

Find the reason your group is coming

Ask whether the gathering is mainly for live music, a birthday, a company night or simply time with friends. A shared reason makes decisions about arrival and seating easier. If the live band is the priority, the first set gives you a clear target. If the gathering matters more, you may want time at the booth before the programme begins.

Keep optional ideas separate from the main plan. Some guests may stay through the later DJ set while others leave after the band. That does not need to be a problem if the group knows the arrangement in advance. Avoid promising a private singing room: Babylon is a live house with booths, not a KTV venue.

Confirm the headcount before selecting a booth

Collect the number of people who have committed and note anyone who may join later. Send both pieces of information to the team rather than choosing a booth from an optimistic group-chat count. A realistic number helps the venue recommend an arrangement and helps you estimate how shared spending will be divided.

Babylon’s plan lists smaller four-to-six-person groups and larger eight-to-ten-person groups. If your party does not fit neatly into one option, ask how it can be accommodated. Do not assume extra guests can always be added after the table is confirmed. Update the team when the count changes so the final arrangement remains suitable.

Use the floor plan as a conversation tool

SVIP 1 is listed for eight to ten guests. VIP A1–A12 and VIP B1–B4 are listed for four to six, while VIP B5–B12 are listed for eight to ten. Standing tables HT01–HT11 and CT01–CT09 are listed for four to six. The plan also shows the live-band and DJ stages.

Name the table group you are considering when enquiring. Ask the team about the actual placement, capacity and available alternatives for your date. A plan is useful for orientation, but it does not establish that a specific table is free or that every group will prefer the same part of the room.

Check the minimum for your day

Babylon’s booth requirements differ between Monday–Wednesday and Thursday–Saturday. For SVIP 1 and VIP B5–B12, the plan lists two liquor bottles or RM1,500 in beer for Monday–Wednesday, increasing to three bottles or RM2,000 in beer for Thursday–Saturday.

For VIP A1–A12 and VIP B1–B4, it lists one liquor bottle or RM1,000 in beer for Monday–Wednesday, and two bottles or RM1,500 in beer for Thursday–Saturday. Confirm eligible bottles, the treatment of offers and final charges with the team. The alternatives should not be read as requiring both the bottles and the beer spend.

Keep standing-table conditions separate

The HT and CT standing tables are marked “No Min. Spending*” on the floor plan. Ask the team about the conditions behind the asterisk and whether a standing table suits your group’s intended visit. A no-minimum statement is different from a guarantee of seating, a particular view or a booth.

If the group is comparing a booth with standing tables, discuss the experience as well as the cost. Some guests may want a clear seated base for the evening, while others care mainly about the music. Explain those preferences to the venue so the recommendation reflects how your people plan to spend their time.

Choose an arrival around the programme

The first band plays from 9:15pm to 10pm, followed by a DJ until 10:30pm. The band returns until 11:15pm, then DJs and dancers fill the period before midnight. Another band set runs from midnight to 12:45am, followed by DJs and dancers until 1:30am and a DJ till late.

Give the group an arrival time that leaves room to find the table and settle before the set they want. If people arrive at different times, tell them which part of the programme they may miss rather than promising to hold the whole evening for them. Check the line-up for your date, especially on event nights.

Connect happy hour to the actual order

Beer happy hour runs from 5pm to 10pm. Twenty-four bottles are RM449++ for Tiger, RM469++ for Guinness or RM499++ for Heineken. These are bottled-beer offers with a defined quantity and time window, not a blanket discount on every order.

Ask how the offer relates to your booth’s beer-spend option and which purchases count toward the minimum. Prices exclude 10% service charge and 8% SST. Agree who can approve additional orders and how the group will divide the bill. Guests should understand the arrangement before the night, particularly if some plan to join only briefly or prefer a different drink choice.

Make food and celebrations clear requests

Babylon has a full kitchen menu and ten house favourites. Request the current menu and prices if your group plans to eat, and raise dietary needs before ordering. Do not assume a specific dish is included in the booth minimum or that a bottle requirement covers food.

There is no birthday package. If the gathering is a birthday, book a booth and tell the team you are celebrating, then ask about any requests you have. For a company night, explain the purpose and practical needs without assuming a fixed corporate package. A clear enquiry lets the team confirm what is possible for your event.

Give guests one useful arrival message

The address is 1-02-01, Plaza Bukit Jalil, No. 1, Persiaran Jalil 1, Bandar Bukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur, in Aurora SOVO. Share the Google Maps or Waze link from the contact page, the agreed arrival time and the organiser’s name.

Valet is available on Level 1 and the Aurora car park is another option. Confirm the best entrance or drop-off point if needed. Do not add guessed transit walking times to the invitation. If the group is arriving separately, choose a meeting point after checking it with the venue and keep the booking confirmation with the organiser.

Let confirmation settle the details

Call or WhatsApp 010-829 3977 with the date, time, guest count and preferred booth. No deposit is needed, walk-ins are welcome and early booking is not required for festive or event nights. A preferred booth still needs the team to confirm its availability and terms.

After the reply, check the table group, capacity, day-specific minimum and arrival plan. Share a short summary with guests and arrange a safe journey home. The best group plan becomes almost invisible once the evening starts: everyone knows where to go, what has been booked and how the costs work, leaving the stage and the company to carry the night.
